The Gospel according to John (Second of three parts)
Jesus among the Samaritans 4. (
1-42 )
"When Jesus heard that
the Pharisees had found out that he was making and baptising more disciples
than John--.though in fact it was his disciples who baptised, not Jesus
himself--. he left Judea and went back to Galilee..He had to pass through
Samaria.. On the way he came to the Samaritan town called Sychar near the
land that Jacob gave to his son Joseph..Jacob’s well was there and Jesus,
tired by the journey, sat down by the well. It was about the sixth hour..When
a Samaritan woman came to draw water, Jesus said to her, "Give me
something to drink.". His disciples had gone into the town to buy
food..The Samaritan woman said to him, "You are a Jew. How is it that
you ask me, a Samaritan, for something to drink?"--Jews, of course, do
not associate with Samaritans..Jesus replied to her: If you only knew what
God is offering and who it is that is saying to you, "Give me something
to drink", you would have been the one to ask, and he would have given
you living water. You have no bucket, Sir," she answered, "and the
well is deep: how do you get this living water?. Are you a greater man than
our father Jacob, who gave us this well and drank from it himself with his
sons and his cattle?. Jesus replied:
"Whoever drinks this water will be
thirsty again; but no one who drinks the water that I shall give him will
ever be thirsty again: the water that I shall give him will become in him a
spring of water, welling up for eternal life."
Here we found reference to which we commented, on what shall occur
after Jesus dead, since he knew that his own people was going to give the
back to him, was going to judge and to condemn him. Whenever the speech is
making reference to which is going to happen after his death, because it will
be then when all that he has said and done is going to glorify him and
therefore it will glorify God.
We continue now with the text of this chapter that contains the most
relevant teaching that Jesus grants about God.
"Sir", said the woman, "give
me some of that water, so that I may never be thirsty or come here again to
draw water."."Go and call your husband," said Jesus to her,
"and come back here.".The woman answered, "I have no
husband." Jesus said to her, "You are right to say, "I have no
husband"; for although you have had five, the one you now have is not
your husband. You spoke the truth there.".
"I see you are a prophet, sir ", said the woman.. "Our fathers worshipped on this mountain, though you say that Jerusalem is the place where one ought to worship.". Jesus said: Believe me, woman, the hour is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know; for salvation comes from the Jews.
But the hour is coming--indeed is already
here - when true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth :
that is the kind of worshipper the Father seeks. God is spirit, and
those who worship must worship in spirit and truth."
This part of the gospel of the apostle John offers to us the greater
revelation that the man from Nazareth does on God and the Spirit. We cannot
forget that the one that is speaking is the Spirit itself through Jesus.
Which means that any other person in the whole universe can teach to us
better on who the Spirit is in fact and as what is our relation with
him.
"God is Spirit", says Jesus and unfortunately we did
not count on any commentary, in none of the six Biblical versions that we
have like aid, on this revelation that Jesus does here.
Suddenly it seem that everybody knows better than us that are under the
redaction of this essay on the spiritual reality, what the spirit is for
sure, although we have not been able to find one person who has been born in
the power of the Holy Spirit.
"We love what we know" said Jesus and indicates to whom they
do it in the spirit. Of no way he means with this: "We love what we
think or imagine", since God is Spirit and those that love Him must do it in
spirit and truth.
To have a total clarity on the spirit we are forced to relate it, as we
have done it in several occasions in this writing, to God and to the Life.
Unfortunately we do not have any person throughout the whole world,
which can teach to us with absolute precision about God and about the Life.
There is only one that can do it and this is God Himself, since the
confidence between us human beings disappeared long time ago from this
planet. For that reason God Himself come to the world and was incarnated in
the person of Jesus from Nazareth, to put in order our "knowledge"
and our ways of life.
But that is not all the question. God repeats the same procedure in
every individual with the help of the Holy Spirit, whenever some human being
in conformity with the circumstances of the practical life is in conditions
for to pass through this particular experience of life.
Generally the people consider the spirit like something ideal, like a
representation of which really it does not exist, it does not comprise of the
reality. And this phenomenon not only concerns to the spirit but also to God
and to the Life. For the majority of the human beings it is the Spirit, God
and the Life, only abstract things that do not exist concretely in the
reality.
Peculiarly, our own thoughts, the most abstract of all our
human resources; it is at last the one that determines it this way.
5. - ( 19-29 )
"To this Jesus replied:
In all truth I tell you, by himself the Son can do nothing; he can do only
what he sees the Father doing: and whatever the Father does the Son does too.
For the Father loves the Son and shows him
everything he himself does, and he will show him even greater things than
these, works that will astonish you.
Thus, as the Father raises the dead and
gives them life, so the Son gives life to anyone he chooses;
for the Father judges no one; he has
entrusted all judgement to the Son, so that all may honour the Son as they
honour the Father.
Whoever refuses honour to the Son refuses
honour to the Father who sent him.
In all truth I tell you, whoever listens to
my words, and believes in the one who sent me, has eternal life; without
being brought to judgement such a person has passed from death to life.
In all truth I tell you, the hour is
coming--indeed it is already here-- when the dead will hear the voice of the
Son of God, and all who hear it will live.
For as the Father has life in himself, so he
has granted the Son also to have life in himself; and because he is the Son
of man, has granted him power to give judgement.
Do not be surprised at this when the dead
will leave their graves at the sound of his voice : those who did good will
come forth to life: and those who did evil will come forth to judgement."
All this that Jesus explains, is what it is called: truth. For
that reason he always begins saying: "In the name of the truth", or
"In all the truth" and he testifies next with: "I say to
you". Although that is the truth, "it seemed" like a fiction
to the ears of the counsellor, who guides us, namely, our mind.
The real truth is that the Life is something we cannot understand,
since we only speculate on her and we have never learned to feel it and to
know it, from the own state of living beings that we have the privilege to
enjoy. Because the Life it is the result of a work very well propose and
planned on the part of which we do not know either, that is to say, God.
It is God the one that governs and inspects everything what exists by
the help of the spirit, since it is the Spirit that executes
everything.

"You have never heard his voice, you have never seen his shape, and
his word finds no home in you
because you do not believe in the one whom
he has sent."
In the specific case of Jesus from Nazareth, we found something that
nobody can ignore or let admire, since as much knowledge and sagacity the
whole humanity never has seen in another human being.
In addition to all the works that he did, as a true confirmation of the
powerful presence of the Spirit in his person, honoured this "Son of
man" by his tremendous wisdom, good sense and intelligence in all his
words.
That is to say, he was completely provided with all necessary things to
fulfil his mission on Earth, in benefit of the entire humanity. This work is
a part of a whole process that still continues and that it has as it puts the
total and definitive destruction of evil in all its dimensions.
For that reason his mission is not yet concluded, but all the
opposite.
His words and affirmations remain until this moment without the
possibility for someone to contradict them. Second after second that going of
time, his words obtain every time greater meaning, relevance and importance
before each step that the humanity takes in its egoist eagerness to solve its
problems to its way.
Jesus says, "because you do not trust (believe)"; of no way
he means: "because you do not conceive", or with other words:
"because you do not consider with the aid of your reason that what I say
is certain or not. He means specifically: "because you do not have
confidence" or want " accept " to the one God has sent to
teach the humankind. What is in question is at heart, not as much the
authenticity of the message, but the competition or authority of Jesus to
give or to distribute this message.
What all this provokes, is nothing else that a reaction of envies
from the natural human being, who base all his confidence in the own human
reasoning and not on God or His executive middling, namely, the Spirit.
It is this specific resource that almost nobody has been able to
recognise present in Jesus from Nazareth.
Observe kindly what follows:
"You pore over the
scriptures, believing that in them you can find eternal life ; it is these
scriptures that testify to me, and yet you refuse to come to me to receive
life!
Human glory means nothing to me.
Besides, I know you too well: you have no
love of God in you.
I have come in the name of my Father and you
refuse to accept me ; if someone else should come in his own name
you would accept him.
How can you believe, since you look to each
other for glory and are not concerned with the glory that comes from the one
God?
Do not imagine that I am going to accuse you
before the Father: you have placed your hopes on Moses, and Moses will be the
one who accuses you.
If you really believed him you would
believe me too, since it was about me that he was writing ; but if you
will not believe what he wrote, how can you believe what I
say?"
In agreement with which we commented about to recognise Jesus as guide
appropriates, it is much easier for great majority, to rely on writings and
to deposit in them total confidence. Because those writings never are going
to react before the way to look for information that the people use, to get
to know more on God for example, the Life and the spiritual reality.
But remarkable of everything what this man of Nazareth says, (or rather
clarify) it is that the person that does not learn to differentiate between
which is spirit and what it is only human, will never be able
to become aware on God or of the reality. Because Jesus permanently
leaves in total freedom the Spirit present in him to teaches. And all those
that suppose to have some knowledge or understanding on
the spiritual things do not reach to recognise the Spirit in the voice of
Jesus that teaches, that is to say, the Holy Spirit.
In this gospel, the apostle John allows his Teacher to speak almost
openly on this sphere that so many million human beings and during all the
history of the humanity have tried to have some idea on the matter. By that
reason, that among other things, this gospel has turned out to be the most
"incomprehensible" for the great majority of the
theologians, philosophers and people who supposes to have certain understood
in the scriptures.
This man from Nazareth when he says, "if you do not trust
me", he is meaning at least two specific things. First it is: "if
you do not trust that I am the one that would be to come, according to the
writings, to teach you on the things of God ".
That is to say the promised Messiah that the people of Israel had
waited for as much time.
Second it is: "if you do not want to accept that it is in the Spirit
of God whom you must trust really to get to make the will of God. Since
it is the Spirit of God that speaks through me, because this one is present
in me as the same John the Baptist therefore has confirmed it and testified".
The coming of the Messiah had been prophesied long time ago back, like
a human being like Moses, but on which the Holy Spirit of God would rest.
This was what gave origin to the name that would be to have this
Messiah. That means: Emmanuel (God is with us or me) or Jesus (something as
well as: The Saviour of God).
Is important to consider all these indications, to be conscientious of
all the things that the evangelist is adding in the teaching of his
Master.
What is extraordinary, incomparable and characteristic of this man from
Nazareth, it is what he himself assures and it reiterates in many occasions.
That is to say, it is not he that teach and to whom the honours it belongs.
The glory it is of the Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God that he lets speak by
means of his words.
8.- ( 22 - 29 )
"So the Jews said to one
another, "Is he going to kill himself, that he says, "Where I am
going, you cannot come?"" Jesus went on: You are from below; I am
from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I have told you
already: You will die in your sins.
Yes, if you do not believe that I am He, you
will die in your sins."
We have already said it in several occasions, although it is good for
repeating it once again.
The one that speaks in the person of Jesus is God Himself, whose Spirit
rests on the Nazarene to carry out his works.
"Yes, if you do not believe that I am He". This
expression is indicating that it is God Himself who is active in the person
of Jesus that is revealing Himself openly to the humanity. Precisely as He
had promised it long before, when He had said on Himself: "I am he
who is", that is to say: Jehovah or Yahweh.
Extraordinary it is in this specifically case the form to reveal
himself, since it happens of the most natural possible and simple form, in
relation to all the other forms that are described in Biblical
writings.
In addition, the man Jesus is totally and absolutely conscientious
of this phenomenon.
"So they said to him, "Who are you?" Jesus answered:
What I have told you from the outset.
About you I have much to say and much to judge; but the one who sent me
is true, and what I declare to the world I have learnt from him.
They did not recognise that he was talking to them about the Father.
So Jesus said: When you have lifted up the Son of man, then you
will know that I am He and that I do nothing of my own accord.
What I say is what the Father has taught me; he who sent me is with me,
(Emmanuel) and has not left me to myself, for I always do what pleases
him."
( 41- 58 )
"They replied, "We were not born illegitimate, the only
father we have is God."
Jesus answered: If God were your father, you would love me, since I
have my origin in God and have come from him; I did not come of my own
accord, but he sent me.
Why do you not understand what I say?
Because you cannot bear to listen to my words".
After to have testified like present in the person of Jesus, unmasks
God now the identity of which it is against His plans and will. We have
already insinuated that in several times in this essay.
Observe what now God reveals by means of Jesus:
"You are from your father, the devil, and you prefer to do
what your father wants.
He was a murderer from the start; he was never grounded in the
truth; there is no truth in him at
all.
When he lies he is speaking true to his nature, because he is a liar,
and the father of lies.
But it is because I speak the truth that you do not believe me.
Can any of you convict me of sin?
If I speak the truth, why do you not believe me?
Whoever comes from God listens to the words of God; the reason why you
do not listen is that you are not from God."
MORE OF THE GOSPEL ACCORDING TO JOHN
What we now are going to express, we do that in absolute agreement with
our own personal experiences. It is not some interpretation or seemed thing,
but something we have verified ourselves when we had the opportunity to feel
the presence and power of the Holy Spirit, outside and within
ourselves.
Of the same form as God needs to reveal himself of some way to the
human being to be able to demonstrate His presence and His power, we must
also learn to know the Opponent, the Evil one (Devil).
Because it is the devil the one that tries to sabotage the plans of God and
to deceive us, with the purpose that we do not get to obtain the Glory of
God.
All this happens of once, when the person has been baptised in the
power of the Holy Spirit. We testify this and the evangelist tell us about
this the day in which Jesus was baptised in the Holy Spirit in the Jordan
River.
The fact that this is absolutely necessary and inescapable to go
through this experience, is something that it has to do with the grace of
the Almighty. Since the person goes from the ignorance to the wisdom,
from the insecurity to the consciousness, that is the unique factor that can
overpower the cleverness and ruses of the evil one.
The apostle John is the unique one between the four evangelist that
appear in the bible, that does not relate this episode that already we have
mentioned and that happened immediately after Jesus was baptised in the power
of the Holy Spirit.
But we are going to count to which it was, according to as Luke
describes it in his own gospel.
We must try to remember that opponent it means among other things: competitor.
This word has a great signification when we go to consider the fact
that, at the human being arrives the Holy Spirit like something "strange"
who practically comes to compete with the human mind in its function of
guide, advisor and company.
We know, as Jesus usually said that this is certain, since we have
passed through this and stated that it is in this way.
Luke 4: 1-13
Testing in the desert
"Filled with the Holy
Spirit, Jesus left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert, for
forty days being put to the test by the devil. During that time he ate
nothing and at the end he was hungry. Then the devil said to him, "If
you are Son of God, tell this stone to turn into a loaf." But Jesus
replied, "Scripture says: Human beings live not on bread alone".
Then leading him to a height, the devil showed him in a moment of time all
the kingdoms of the world and said to him, "I will give you all this
power and their splendour, for it has been handed over to me, for me to give
it to anyone I choose. Do homage, then, to me, and it shall all be
yours." But Jesus answered him, "Scriptures says: You must do
homage to the Lord your God, him alone you must serve." Then he led him
to Jerusalem and set him on the parapet of the Temple. "If you are Son
of God," he said to him, "throw yourself down from here, for
scripture says: He has given his angels orders about you, to guard you and again:
They will carry you in their arms in case you trip over a stone." But
Jesus answered him, "Scriptures says: Do not put the Lord your God to
the test."
Having exhausted every way of putting him to
the test, the devil left him, until the opportune moment."
There are several details in this narration that indicate that Jesus
talked with part of himself, under the influence of the physical weakness
that this so long period had caused to him in the desert.
Everything indicates in addition that Jesus himself narrated to his
disciples on this encounter with the devil, since Jesus was totally alone
during this period of test. In addition it is possible to confirm that the
"devil" uses the scripture to obtain his intentions, of the
same form as we have seen it in the chapter third of the Genesis when he set
Eva on test.
On the devil, we have exposed already different information on the
matter, extracted of different sources, although by the fact that "he
is the most subtle of the wild beasts that God created ", he tries
to escape all the time to our intents to unmask him to fullness.
The only thing that we have stated up to here is the fact that "he"
uses our thoughts and our words to make his will, which in other words means,
to prevent the suitable communication and relation of the human being with
his God.
Anyhow, which here it is narrated, Jesus himself has verified it in his
own human reality and what he tries to say to us is that we live in a state
that is the result of the errors of ours first ancestors. What type of error
was the one that they committed is something that belongs to the earliest
experiences of life of the humanity.
We are going to once again retake this text of as much importance:
"You are from your
father, the devil, and you prefer to do what your father wants.
He was a murderer from the start; he
was never grounded in the truth; When he lies he is speaking true to his
nature, because he is a liar, and the father of lies".
This is the answer that Jesus gives to those who tried to make fun of
him by the fact of to have been born before Maria had been married with
Joseph. The intention was to declare him impure or non-apt to speak on the
things of God. In other words, they declared themselves like more authorised
than Jesus to talk about Him. Was then when the Spirit present in Jesus
responded to them, "in all the truth": You have a father in
specific, the devil one, and you prefer to do the will of this one".
Non sufficient with considering him inapt to speak on the sacred
things, some of them diagnosed Jesus like "possessed", that
is to say: mentally ill, which helps us to understand what evil really
it is at heart.
"The Jews replied,
"Are we not right in saying that you are a Samaritan and possessed by a
Devil?" Jesus answered: I am not possessed; but I honour my Father, and
you deny me honour.
I do not seek my own glory; there is someone
who does seek it and is the judge of it.
In all truth I tell you, whoever keeps my word
will never see death."
The Jews said, "Now we know that you
are possessed. Abraham is dead, and the prophets are dead, and you say,
"Whoever keeps my word will never know the taste of death." Are you
greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? The prophets are dead too. Who
are you claiming to be?" Jesus answered: If I were to seek my own
glory my glory would be worth nothing ; in fact, my glory is
conferred by the Father, by the one of whom you say, "He is our
God", although you do not know him. But I know him, and
if I were to say, "I do not know him", I should be a liar, as
you yourselves are. But I do know him, and I keep his word. Your
father Abraham rejoiced to think that he would see my Day; he saw
it and was glad.
The Jews then said, "You are not fifty
yet, and you have seen Abraham!" Jesus replied:
In all truth I tell you,
before Abraham ever was,
I am."
It cannot be the son of Joseph and Maria the one that is speaking here.
Don't you think?
Most of the people that discussed with Jesus were elder than him. Many
of among them knew something on him, although they could not "see"
the Spirit present in him or some seal in his front that certificate
the presence of the spirit of God in his person and in addition his mission
between us.
Everybody knew that sometimes it would appear on the Earth the promised
Messiah - chosen and sent by God -, although everyone had become an own idea
on how there would be seems this Saviour and Guide. Jesus from Nazareth did
not agree of any way with the fantasy of them. Jesus was totally real.
If the chosen one or Messiah had not done everything what he did and
not said the things he said, they would have reason to doubt him, but it was
not there where it was the problem. Like nowadays and as always it has been,
exist an enormous distance between what we suppose or we imagine and what
true and indeed is real.

3.- EL EVANGELIO
SEGÚN EL APÓSTOL JUAN. (La segunda de tres partes)
Jesús entre los
samaritanos. 4.-( 1-42 )
”Cuando Jesús se
enteró de que los fariseos habían llegado a la conclusión de que Jesús
bautizaba y tenía más seguidores que Juan el bautista -- a pesar de que
eran los discípulos quienes bautizaban y no Jesús -- abandonó Judea y se
volvió hacia Galilea. Por lo tanto tendría que pasar por Samaria.. En el
camino llegó hasta un pueblito en Samaria que se llama Sicar, cerca de las
tierras que Jacob le dió a su hijo José.. Allí se encontraba la fuente de
Jacob y Jesús, cansado de tanto viaje, logró verlo. Era más o menos al
mediodía, cuando una mujer de esa región vino a buscar agua. Jesús le dijo,
”Por favor, dame algo de beber”.. Los discípulos se habían ido al pueblo para
comprar algo de comer. La mujer le respondió, ” Tu eres judío. ¿Cómo puedes
pedirle entonces, a una samaritana, algo de beber?” -- Los judíos no se
juntan con los samaritanos. Jesús le dijo: "Si tu supieras lo que Dios
está haciendo en este instante y quién es aquél que te dice,”Dame algo de
beber”, serías tu la que le pediría a él que te diese agua de
vida".
”Usted no tiene
ningún balde, Maestro”, dijo ella, ”y el pozo éste es hondo: ¿De qué forma va
Usted a sacar agua de vida? ¿Es Usted mayor que nuestro padre Jacob, que nos
dió esta fuente y de la cual él mismo bebió con sus hijos y su ganado? Jesús
le dijo: "El que beba de esta agua va a tener sed de nuevo; pero ninguno
de los que van a beber del agua que yo les voy a dar de beber tendrá sed de
nuevo: ya que el agua que yo les voy a dar va a ser como una
fuente, de la cual emane vida eterna."
Aquí encontramos
una alusión a lo que yo comentaba, en cuanto a lo que va a acontecer después
de la muerte de Jesús, ya que el sabía que su propio pueblo le iba a dar la
espalda, lo iba a juzgar y a condenar. Cada vez que él habla está haciendo
referencia a lo que va a suceder después de su muerte, pues será entonces cuando todo lo dicho y hecho por
él, le va a glorificar y por lo tanto glorificará a Dios.
Continuamos ahora
con el texto de este capítulo, que contiene una de las enseñanzas más
relevantes que Jesus concede acerca de Dios.
”Mi Señor” dijo
la mujer, ” dáme un poquito de esa agua, para no tener más sed y no tener la
necesidad de venir hasta acá a buscar agua ”.. ”Anda a buscar a tu esposo”,
le dijo Jesús,” y ven de nuevo acá”.. La mujer le respondió, ” Yo no tengo
esposo”.. Jesús le dijo entonces,” Tu tienes razón cuando dices, ” Yo no
tengo esposo ”, pues tu has tenido cinco, y el que ahora tu tienes tampoco es
tu marido. Tu hablas la verdad en esto”.. ” ¡Parece que Usted es un profeta,
Señor!” , dijo la mujer..
” Nuestros
antepasados adoraban en este monte, a pesar de que ustedes dicen que
Jerusalén es el lugar indicado para adorar”.. Entonces Jesús le dijo: "Confía
en mis palabras, mujer, el tiempo viene, cuando ustedes adorarán al Padre no
en este monte ni en Jerusalén.
Ustedes adoran
lo que no conocen; nosotros amamos aquello que conocemos; ya que la
salvación proviene del pueblo de Israel.
Pero viene el
tiempo, que por lo demás ya está aquí, cuando los que verdaderamente aman al
Padre
lo van a hacer en
espíritu y en verdad: pues ese es el tipo de personas que el Padre busca.
Dios es espíritu, y los que lo
aman deben hacerlo en espíritu y en verdad".
Este pasaje del
evangelio del apóstol Juan nos ofrece la revelación más grande que el hombre
de Nazareth hace sobre Dios y sobre el Espíritu. No se debe olvidar que es el
espíritu mismo el que está hablando a través de Jesus, lo que significa que no
existe ninguna otra persona en el universo entero que nos pueda enseñar mejor
sobre lo que el Espíritu es en realidad y cual es nuestra
relación con él.
”Dios es Espíritu”
dice Jesús y desgraciadamente no contamos con ningún comentario, en ninguna
de las seis versiones bíblicas que tengo como ayuda, sobre esta
revelación que Jesús hace aquí.
De pronto
pareciera como que todo el mundo sabe mejor que nosotros que estamos
bajo la redacción de este ensayo sobre la realidad espiritual, lo que el
espíritu es a ciencia cierta, a pesar de que nosotros no hemos podido
encontrar a ninguna persona que haya nacido en el poder del Espíritu
Santo.
”Nosotros amamos
lo que conocemos” dice Jesus y señala a aquellos que lo hacen en el espíritu.
De ninguna manera el quiere decir con esto: ”Nosotros amamos lo que pensamos
o imaginamos”, ya que Dios es Espíritu y aquellos que lo aman
lo deben hacer en espíritu y en verdad.
Para tener una
plena claridad sobre el espíritu estamos obligados a relatarlo, de la
forma como lo he hecho en varias ocasiones, a Dios ( Padre) y a la Vida
( la verdad ).
Desgraciadamente
no contamos con ninguna persona en el mundo entero, que nos pueda enseñar con
absoluta precisión, quién o qué cosa es Dios y la Vida.
Hay uno solo que
lo puede hacer y ese es Dios mismo, ya que la confianza entre nosotros como
seres humanos desapareció de este planeta hace mucho tiempo atrás.
Por eso es que Él
mismo vino al mundo y se encarnó en la persona de Jesús de Nazareth, para
poner en orden nuestros ”conocimientos” y nuestros modos de proceder.
Pero eso no es
todo, pues como lo vamos a ver más adelante, Dios procede de esta misma
manera con cada individuo y por medio del poder del Espíritu Santo,
cada vez que algún ser humano, en conformidad con las circunstancias de la
vida práctica, se encuentra en condiciones de pasar por esta experiencia de
vida. (contexto social)
Por lo general se
considera al espíritu como algo ideal, es decir, como una representación de
algo que realmente no existe, no forma parte de la realidad. Y este fenómeno
no sólo atañe al espíritu sino también a Dios y a la Vida.
Para la mayoría
de los seres humanos es el Espíritu, Dios y la Vida, sólo cosas abstractas
que no existen concretamente en la realidad. Curiosamente, son nuestros propios
pensamientos, es decir, lo más abstracto de nuestra realidad humana, quién
lo determina de este modo.
5.- ( 19-29 )
"A esto
respondió Jesús: en verdad Yo les digo, el Hijo no puede hacer nada por su
propio poder; él sólo puede hacer las cosas que su Padre hace: y todo lo que
el Padre hace, el Hijo hace de igual modo.
Pues, el Padre
ama al Hijo y le enseña todo lo que Él mismo hace, y va a mostrarle
cosas aún más grandes todavía, hechos y cosas que a ustedes los van a
sorprender.
Pues, del modo
que el Padre resucita a los muertos y les dá vida, el Hijo también le
da vida a todo aquél que él elige; ya que el Padre no
juzga a nadie; Él le ha entregado al Hijo todo el juicio, para que todos
honren al Hijo de la misma forma como honran al Padre.
Todo aquél que se
niega a reconocer al Hijo menosprecia la honra al Padre que lo envió.
En verdad Jag les
digo, todo aquél que escucha mis palabras, y confía en el que me envió, tiene
vida eterna; sin caer en juicio ha pasado esta persona de la muerte a la vida.
Verdaderamente Jag
les digo, viene el tiempo, que por lo demás ya está aquí, cuando los muertos escucharán
la voz del Hijo de Dios, y todos los que así lo hagan vivirán.
De la forma que
el Padre tiene vida en sí mismo, así también Él le ha concedido al Hijo
tener vida en sí mismo; pues Él es el "Hijo de hombre",
( Profecía del profeta Daniel ) y le ha concedido a Él el derecho a juzgar.
No se sorprendan
de todo esto, pues viene el tiempo en que los muertos abandonarán sus tumbas
después de haber
escuchado Su voz:los que hicieron el bien tendrán derecho a vivir: y los que
no lo hicieron serán condenados."
Todo esto que
Jesús explica, es lo que se llama: verdad. Por eso es que siempre
empieza diciendo: ”En verdad ", o ”Verdaderamente " y atestigua a continuación
con: ”Yo les digo”. A pesar de que se
trata de la verdad, ”pareciera” como que se trata de ficción a los oídos del
consejero que permanentemente nos está guiando, es decir, nuestra mente.
La Verdad
es que la Vida es algo que nosotros no podemos entender, ya que sólo
especulamos sobre ella y jamás hemos aprendido a sentirla y conocerla,
a partir del propio estado de seres vivientes que tenemos el privilegio de
disfrutar.
La Verdad
es que esto que no podemos entender, es decir la Vida, es el resultado
de una obra muy bien propuesta y planificada por parte de alguien que tampoco
nosotros conocemos, es decir Dios, aquél que gobierna e inspecciona todo lo
que existe por la vía del espíritu, ya que es el Espíritu el que
ejecuta todo.
"Ustedes
jamás han escuchado Su voz, ni jamás han visto Su forma, y Sus
palabras no hacen efecto en ustedes porque ustedes no confían en Aquél
que Él les ha enviado."
En el caso
específico de Jesús de Nazaret, encontramos algo que nadie puede pasar por
alto o dejar de admirar, ya que tanto conocimiento y sagacidad la humanidad
entera jamás ha presenciado en otro ser humano.
Además de todas
las obras que él hizo, como una prueba fehaciente de la poderosa presencia
del Espíritu en su persona, se destacaba éste "Hijo de hombre"
por su tremenda sabiduría, sensatez e inteligencia en todas sus palabras.
Es decir, estaba
completamente provisto con todo lo necesario para cumplir con su misión aquí
en la tierra. Con el trabajo a realizar en beneficio de la humanidad, que es
parte de todo un proceso que aún continúa y que tiene como meta la
destrucción total y definitiva del mal en todas sus dimensiones.
Por ello es que
su misión aún no ha concluido, sino todo lo contrario. Sus palabras y
afirmaciones permanecen hasta este instante sin que nadie las pueda de alguna
u otra forma contradecir. Segundo tras segundo que pasa de tiempo, van
haciendose sus palabras cada vez de mayor significación, relevancia y
cruciales ante cada paso que la humanidad toma en su afán egoista de
solucionar sus problemas a su modo.
Jesús dice,
”porque ustedes no confían..”; de ninguna manera él quiere decir: ”porque
ustedes no creen”, o dicho con otras palabras: ”porque ustedes no consideran
con la ayuda de vuestro raciocinio que lo que yo digo es cierto o no, sino
que: confiar, tener fé o creer en este preciso contexto
significa: ”tener confianza” o ”aceptar” a aquél que Dios
nos ha enviado para enseñarnos. Lo que está en tela de juicio es en el fondo,
no tanto la autenticidad del mensaje, sino la competencia o autoridad de
Jesús para entregar o repartir este mensaje.
Lo que se suscita
ante este hecho no es nada más que una reacción de envidia de parte del ser
humano natural, que fundamenta toda su confianza en los propios razonamientos
humanos y no en Dios ni tampoco en su medio ejecutivo, es decir, el Espíritu.
Es este
específico recurso que casi nadie ha podido reconocer presente en
Jesús de Nazaret. Observese atentamente lo que sigue:
"Ustedes
examinan las escrituras, con la esperanza de encontrar en ellas la
vida eterna;
pero esos
escritos testifican de mí, y ustedes no quieren venir a mí para
obtener vida!
Honor y fama no
son nada para mí.
Además, yo sé muy
bien que el Amor de Dios no está en el interior de ustedes.
Yo he venido por
parte de mi Padre y ustedes se niegan a aceptarme; pero a cualquiera que
viene por su propia cuenta a ese si lo aceptan ustedes.
¿Porqué dicen
ustedes que confían en algo cuando permanentemente están tratando de
verificar
los méritos de
cada cual y desprecian la gloria que procede de Dios mismo?
No crean que yo
voy a acusarlos ante el Padre: ya que ustedes han puesto la esperanza en
Moisés,
y Moisés mismo es
quien los acusa.
Si ustedes
realmente confían en él deberían ustedes confiar en mí también,
ya que él escribió sobre mí; pero si ustedes no confían en lo que él
escribió,
¿Cómo van a confiar
entonces en lo que yo digo?"
En concordancia
con lo que comentaba acerca de reconocer a Jesús como el guía
apropiado, resulta mucho más fácil para la gran mayoría, atenerse a los
escritos y depositar en ellos la plena confianza, pues esos escritos jamás
van a reaccionar ante la genuinidad y el modo de buscar
informaciones que esa personas utilizan, para llegar a conocer más sobre Dios
por ejemplo, sobre la Vida en uno y otro sentido y sobre la realidad
espiritual.
Pero lo más
remarcable de todo lo que este hombre de Nazaret dice, o mejor dicho
clarifica, es que el que no aprende a diferenciar entre lo que es espíritu
y lo que solamente es humano, jamás podrá llegar a tomar conciencia,
ni de Dios ni de la realidad toda en la que nos encontramos, puesto que él
permanentemente está dejando en plena libertad al Espíritu presente en él
para que enseñe y todos aquellos que creen tener algún conocimiento o
entendimiento sobre las cosas espirituales o "religiosas", no
alcanzan a reconocer en la voz de Jesús, al Espíritu que
enseña, es decir, el Espíritu Santo.
En este
evangelio, el apóstol Juan permite a su Maestro hablar casi abiertamente
sobre esta esfera que tantos millones de seres humanos y durante toda la
historia de la humanidad han pretendido tener alguna idea al respecto. Por
ese motivo es que entre otras cosas, este evangelio ha resultado ser el más
"incomprensible" de todos para la gran mayoría de los
teólogos, filósofos y personas que creen tener cierto entendido en las
sagradas escrituras.
Este hombre de
Nazaret cuando dice: "si ustedes no confían en mí",
está queriendo decir por lo menos dos cosas específicas; la primera es:
"si ustedes no confían en que yo soy el que habría de venir,
de acuerdo a las escrituras, para enseñarles a ustedes sobre las cosas de Dios".
Es decir, el Mesías prometido que el pueblo de Israel había esperado tanto
tiempo. La segunda es: "si ustedes no quieren aceptar que es en
el Espíritu de Dios en quién ustedes deben confiar para
realmente llegar a hacer la voluntad de Dios, ya que es el Espíritu
de Dios quien habla a través de mí, pues éste está presente
en mi como el mismo Juan el bautista así lo ha confirmado y testificado”.
La venida del Mesías
había sido profetizada desde hacía mucho tiempo atrás, como un ser humano al
igual que Moisés, pero sobre el cual descansaría el Espíritu Santo de
Dios.
Esto fue lo que
dió origen al nombre mismo que habría de tener este Mesías, es decir: Emmanuel
( Dios está con nosotros o conmigo ) o Jesús (
algo así como: el salvador de Dios ).
Es importante
tener en cuenta todas estas indicaciones, para estar conciente de todas las
cosas que el evangelista va añadiendo en la enseñanza misma de su maestro.
Lo que es
extraordinario, incomparable y característico de este hombre de Nazaret, es
lo que él mismo asegura y reitera en muchas ocasiones, en cuanto a que no es
él quién está enseñando y a quién la honra pertenece, sino que la gloria es
del Espíritu, el Espíritu Santo de Dios que él a plena
voluntad deja hablar por medio de sus palabras.
8.- ( 22 - 29 )
"Entonces
los judíos hablaban entre ellos y dijeron, ”¿Es que va a matarse a sí mismo,
de acuerdo a lo que él dice, ”A dónde yo voy ustedes no pueden venir?”.
Jesús les
repondió: Ustedes son de acá abajo; yo vengo desde lo alto.
Ustedes son sólo
de este mundo; yo no soy de este sistema de cosas.
Yo ya se los he
dicho: ustedes van a morir en sus errores.
Sin lugar a
dudas, si ustedes no confían en el que yo soy van a morir a
causa de sus propios errores."
Ya lo he dicho en
varias ocasiones, aunque es bueno repetirlo una vez más.
El que habla en
la persona de Jesús es Dios mismo, cuyo Espíritu
descansa sobre el Nazareno para llevar a cabo sus obras.
”Sin lugar a
dudas, si ustedes no confían en el que Yo soy”.
Esta expresión
está señalando que es Dios mismo quién está activo en la persona de Jesús
y que de esta forma está él mismo revelándose abiertamente a la
humanidad, precisamnete como Él lo había prometido mucho antes, cuando
había dicho sobre sí mismo: ”Yo soy el que ustedes van a llegar a
conocer que Yo soy”, es decir: Yahweh, en hebreo y Jehová
en castellano.
La problemática
radica en esta específica forma de manifestarse, ya que sucede de la forma
más natural y sencilla posible, en relación a todas las otras formas que
de una u otra manera se describen en los escritos bíblicos.
Además, el hombre
Jesús está total y absolutamnete conciente de este fenómeno, con todo
lo que ello pueda significar. -( nosotros vamos a explicar dentro de
un instante porqué jamás usamos la palabra Cristo o Jesucristo)
"Entonces le
preguntaron, ”¿Quién eres tu realmente?”.. Jesús respondió: el que yo ya les
he dicho desde el principio.
A cerca de
ustedes es mucho lo que yo tengo que decir y mucho que juzgar; pues El
que me envió es veráz, y todo lo que Yo predico al mundo lo he
aprendido de Él.
Ellos no entendían que les estaba hablando
del Padre.
Entonces Jesús
continuó: después que ustedes hayan levantado al hijo del hombre, van
a entender quién soy Yo y que lo que yo hago no es de mi propia
voluntad.
Lo que Yo les digo a ustedes es lo que el
Padre me ha enseñado; El que me envió está conmigo, ( Emmanuel ) y no me
ha dejado solo,
pues yo siempre
hago lo que a Él le place." ( Espíritu )
El único que tiene
poder sobre la vida y sobre la muerte,
es Aquél que el ser humano que nosotros hemos identificado como Jesús de
Nazaret, reveló en vida y después de su crucifixión, es decir, Dios.
Pues es el poder espiritual aquello que Dios ha querido compartir
desde el principio con el ser humano; no inteligencia ni capacidad de pensar,
no conocimientos ni lógica, sino poder, vitalidad, energía que es eterna,
sin límites, inmortal.
"Ellos le
respondieron, ”Nosotros no somos hijos ilegítimos, el único padre
que tenemos es Dios”.
A esto Jesús les
respondió: Si Dios fuera vuestro Padre, ustedes me amarían, ya
que Yo provengo de Dios y he venido de su parte; yo no he
venido por mi propia voluntad, pues, es Él quién me ha enviado.
¿Porqué no
pueden entender lo que yo digo?
Se debe a que
ustedes no soportan mis palabras."
Después de
haberse dado a conocer como presente en la persona de Jesús, desenmascara Dios
ahora la identidad de aquél que tiene por misión, presentar pruebas concretas
sobre las violaciones del hombre a Sus planes y Su voluntad.
Esto lo he ya
insinuado varias veces en este ensayo; observese lo que ahora Dios
revela por medio de Jesús:
"Ustedes
tienen un padre en específico, el diablo y ustedes prefieren hacer
la voluntad de éste.
Éste fue un asesino desde el principio; jamás
ha querido atenerse a la verdad; en él no se encuentra nada que sea
verdadero.
Cuando miente lo
hace en conformidad con su naturaleza, ya que él es mentiroso, y
padre de todo lo que es falso.
Pero, porque yo
digo lo que es cierto ustedes no confían en mí.
¿Puede alguno de
ustedes acusarme de algo malo que yo he hecho?
Si yo hablo lo
que es cierto, ¿Porqué entonces no confían en mí?
Todo aquél que
proviene de Dios escucha las palabras de Dios;
el motivo por el
cual ustedes no las escuchan es que ustedes no tienen nada en común con
Dios".
Lo que ahora voy
a expresar, lo hago en absoluta concordancia con mis propias experiencias
personales. No se trata de ninguna interpretación o cosa parecida, sino de lo
que yo mismo he verificado cuando tuve la oportunidad de sentir la
presencia y poder del Espíritu Santo, fuera y dentro de mi mismo.
De la misma forma
como Dios necesita revelarse de algún modo al ser humano para poder demostrar
su presencia y su poder, para que el ser humano pueda contar con la
absoluta seguridad de su existencia, debemos también aprender a
conocer al Opositor, al Malo (Diablo) ya que es éste
quien tiene a su cargo investigar las violaciones a los planes de Dios
y que además, por medio de la astucia y el engaño pone a prueba al ser humano
para hacerlo caer en infracción y de esta forma imposibilitar al hombre la
obtención de la Gloria de Dios, que por supuesto es la voluntad
primaria de Dios.
Todo esto sucede
de una vez, cuando se es bautizado en el poder del Espíritu Santo.
Existen por lo menos dos posibilidades de entender la presencia de éste señor en la historia de la creación en general y del ser humano en particular. La primera es que, en conformidad con la presentación que se hace de él en el jardín del Edén, Dios tuvo a bién crearlo y concederle una misión especifíca; la de actuar a modo de fiscal (acusador) señalando las infracciones del ser humano. Esta específica función le fué concedida en conformidad a los atributos personales de éste señor. El texto dice: "Ahora bien, la serpiente resultó ser la más cautelosa (astuta, sutil, ingeniosa, inestable) de todas las bestias salvajes del campo que Jehová Dios había hecho".
La segunda es
que, de acuerdo a lo anterior y en virtud de la magnifiencia del ser humano
por Dios también creado, se inflamó de ENVIDIA y cayó desde el principio en
las propias argumentaciones de la función a él encomendadas. Es decir, fué el
primero en cometer infracción e infringir de este modo delito ante las leyes
por Dios dispuestas. Así lo confirma el libro de la Sabiduría y Jesus entre
otros.
Yo soy personalmente testigo de esto y los evangelistas nos cuentan acerca de esto el día en que Jesús fue bautizado en el Espíritu Santo en el río Jordán.
El hecho de que
sea absolutamente necesario e ineludible pasar por esta experiencia, es algo
que tiene que ver con la gracia del Todopoderoso, ya que se pasa de la
ignorancia a la sabiduría, de la inseguridad a la confianza,fé
o intimidad que es lo único que puede llegar a poner término a las
astucias y artimañas del malo, a quién de ningún modo le gusta esto.
El apóstol Juan
es el único entre los cuatro evangelistas que figuran en la biblia, que no
relata este episodio que ya he mencionado y que sucedió inmediatamente
después que Jesús fue bautizado en el poder del Espíritu Santo. Pero
vamos a contar con lo que sucedió, de acuerdo a como Lucas lo describe
en su propio evangelio.
No se debe
olvidar que opositor significa entre otras cosas: competidor.
Esta palabra tiene una gran significación cuando se trata de considerar el hecho
de que, al ser humano llega y se adhiere el Espíritu Santo como algo
”extraño o desconocido” y por consiguiente, distinto, es decir, Sagrado o
Santo, que viene practicamente a competir con la mente humana,
en su función de guía, consejero y compañía.
Yo se, como Jesús
mismo acostumbraba a decir, que esto es cierto, ya que he pasado por esto y
constatado de que es así.
Lucas 4 : 1-13 =
"Jesús
volvió del río Jordán lleno del Espíritu Santo, y guiado por el Espíritu
estuvo durante cuarenta días en el desierto, donde él fue puesto a prueba por
el diablo. Durante todo este tiempo él no comió nada, y al final sintió
hambre. Entonces le dijo el diablo: ”Si tú eres hijo de Dios, manda
entonces a las piedras que se conviertan en pan”. Jesús le respondió: ”Está
escrito: No sólo de pan vivirá el hombre”.
El diablo lo
llevó a lo alto de un monte y lo dejó que por un momento pudiera ver todos
los reinos del mundo y le dijo: ”Yo te daré todo este poder y toda esta
gloria, que ha sido depositada en mis manos y que yo puedo dar al que yo
quiera. Si tu me veneras, todo esto será tuyo”. Jesús respondió: ”Está
escrito: Al que es tu Dios, tu venerarás, y sólo a él has de adorar”.
El diablo lo
llevó hasta Jerusalén y lo puso en lo alto del muro del templo y le dijo: ”Si
tu eres hijo de Dios, tírate hacia abajo. Pues está escrito: "Él va
a ordenar a sus ángeles que te resguarden", y: "Te levantarán sobre
sus manos, para que tu pie no tropiece con piedra alguna”. Pero Jesús le
respondió: ”Está escrito: "No tentarás al que es tu Dios”. Cuando
el diablo lo hubo probado de muchas maneras, lo dejó en paz por algún
tiempo.”
Hay varios
detalles en esta narración que indican que Jesús conversaba con parte de
sí mismo, bajo la influencia de la debilidad física que este período tan
largo le había provocado en el desierto.
El hecho de que esta conversación hubiese tenido lugar en su propia mente no descarta la afirmación de que en realidad se trata, en el caso del diablo, de un ser espiritual que, habiendo conquistado la soberanía sobre el poder mental del ser humano en el jardín del Edén, tiene la astucia y el poder de infiltrarse en la actividad mental del hombre, al cual Jesus pertenece genealógicamente en esos momentos.
Todo indica
además, que fue él mismo quién le contó a sus discípulos sobre este
encuentro con el diablo, ya que Jesús estuvo totalmente solo durante este
período de ”prueba”.
Además se puede
constatar que el ”diablo” utiliza las escrituras para lograr sus
propósitos, de la misma forma como ya lo hemos visto en el capítulo
tercero del Génesis para tentar o "probar" a Eva.
Sobre el diablo
en sí mismo, ya he expuesto diferentes informaciones al respecto, extraídas
de diferentes fuentes de información, aunque por el hecho de que ”el”
es en la práctica: "la más sutil de las bestias salvajes que Dios
había creado", intenta todo el tiempo escapar a nuestros deseos de desenmascararlo
a plenitud.
Lo único que
hasta aquí hemos constatado, es que ”él” utiliza nuestros
pensamientos y nuestras palabras para hacer su voluntad, lo que en otras
palabras significa, impedir la adecuada comunicación y relación del ser
humano con su Dios su craedor o Padre.
A quí llegamos al punto crucial de toda la historia humana, religiosa, espiritual. La creación entera, el Universo, la vida o existencia, o como se le quiera llamar, primero que nada no son el producto de ninguna casualidad.
Es un proceso
minuiciosa y delicadamente establecido para que funcione. Su éxito final
depende de la consumación del hombre, el ser humano, que es la última creatura
puesta en acción y en particular del funcionamiento de su cerebro, el último
de los órganos de éste en ser formado. Es justamente en ese instante en que
hace su aparición e intervención directa "la serpiente". No se
trata en ningún momento de alguna imperfección de parte del responsable y
autor de toda la actividad existente. Por el contrario, se trata de una
manifestación de Poder, Sabiduría y Veracidad o Fidelidad de Éste, tanto en
sus dichos como en sus hechos.
El que se le
permita a "la serpiente" actuar de la manera que lo hizo, se
incluye en la perfección final que habrá de conseguirse, una vez que esta
controversia, duda o interrogante quede finalmente caduca o disuelta.
El primero en
demostrar que esto es posible es Enoc, al cual se le menciona en las
escrituras y del cual se dice: "Y fueron todos los días de Enoc 365
años. Caminó, pués Enoc con Dios, y desapareció, porque le llevó Dios".
Después de él se
tienen referencias de otros casos similares, siendo el más notable el caso de
Jesús de Nasaret, quién luego de ser procesado fué condenado a muerte y
ejecutado en Jerusalén, hace más de dos mil años atrás, habiendo el cumplido
en vida la perfecta voluntad de Dios y por consiguiente merecedor absoluto de
la vida sobre este planeta.

Sea como sea, lo
que aquí se narra, Jesús mismo lo ha verificado en su propia realidad humana
y lo que él intenta decirnos es que nosotros nos encontramos en un estado que
es el resultado de los errores de nuestros primeros antepasados.
Qué tipo de error
fue el que ellos cometieron, es algo que pertenece a las más tempranas
experiencias de vida de la humanidad.
Voy a retomar una
vez más este texto de tanta importancia:
"Ustedes
tienen un padre en específico, el diablo, y ustedes prefieren
hacer la voluntad de éste.
Éste fue un asesino desde el principio; jamás
ha querido atenerse a la verdad; en él no se encuentra nada que sea
verdadero.
Cuando miente lo
hace en conformidad con su naturaleza, ya que él es mentiroso y
padre de todo lo que es falso."
Esta es la
respuesta que Jesús le da a quienes intentaban burlarse de él por el hecho de
haber nacido antes de que María hubiese estado casada con José. La intención
era declararlo impuro o no apto para hablar sobre las cosas de Dios.
En otras palabras, ellos se declaraban a sí mismo como más autorizados que
Jesús para referirse a Dios. Fue entonces cuando el Espíritu
presente en Jesús les respondió, ”en verdad”: ”Ustedes tienen un padre
en específico, el malo, diablo o Satanás y ustedes prefieren hacer la
voluntad de éste….".
No suficiente con
considerarlo indigno de hablar sobre las cosas sagradas, algunos de ellos lo
diagnosticaron como "poseído", es decir: enfermo mental,
lo que nos ayuda a comprender lo que el mal verdaderamente es en el
fondo.
"Los judíos
replicaron, ¿No es cierto lo que decimos que tu eres samaritano y que tu
estás poseído por el diablo? ”. Jesús respondió: Yo no estoy poseído; pues
Yo honro a mi Padre, y ustedes se niegan a reconocerme.
Yo no busco mi
propia honra; hay otro que lo hace y ese sí sabe de honra.
Con absoluta
veracidad Yo les digo, todo el que retiene mis palabras no
va a morir jamás."
”Los judíos le
dijeron, ”Ahora nos damos cuenta de que tu estás poseído. Abraham está
muerto, y los profetas están muertos, y tu vienes y dices, ” Todo el que
retiene mis palabras no vá a morir jamás”.¿Eres tu más grande que nuestro
padre Abraham, que en paz descansa? Los profetas también están muertos. ¿Quién
te crees que tu eres?” .. Jesús les dijo: ”
"Si yo estuviese buscando honra y
gloria sería algo así como el peor de todos; a decir verdad, es mi Padre
quién me honra, aquél que ustedes dicen, ”Él es nuestro Dios”, es decir,
aquél que ustedes no conocen.
Pero Yo sé
quién Él es, y si yo dijese, ”Yo no lo conozco”, sería realmente un
mentiroso, al igual que ustedes.
Pero, Yo lo
conoczco, y por eso atiendo a Sus palabras.
Vuestro padre
Abraham se alegró sólo con pensar en mi venida; el lo llegó a saber y quedó
satisfecho."
”Los judíos le
dijeron entonces, ”¡Tu no has cumplido aún los cincuenta, y tu dices que
Abraham te ha visto!” Jesús les dijo:
En verdad yo les digo, antes que Abraham fuera o existera,Yo ya
era."
No puede ser el
hijo de José y María el que aquí está hablando. ¿No les parece?
La mayoría de los
que discutían con Jesús eran mayores que él en edad. Muchos de entre ellos
sabían algo sobre él, aunque ninguno podía ”ver” el Espíritu
presente en él o algún sello en su frente que certificara la presencia del espíritu
de Dios en su persona y además su misión entre nosotros.
Todo el mundo
sabía que alguna vez habría de venir el Mesías prometido, elegido y enviado
por Dios, aunque cada cual se había hecho una propia idea sobre cómo habría
de ser este Salvador y Guía y Jesús de Nazaret no concordaba de ninguna
manera con la fantasía de ellos, Jesús era totalmente real.
Si el Elegido o
Mesías no hubiese hecho todo lo que hizo, ni hubiese dicho todo lo que dijo,
habría existido motivo para dudar de él, pero no era ahí donde estaba el
problema. Al igual que hoy en día y como siempre lo ha sido, existe una
enorme distancia entre aquello que nosotros creemos o nos imaginamos y lo
que real y efectivamente ES.
